Dear Friends,

Since 2011, I have had the honor and privilege to serve the citizens of House District 65 as your state representative.  Together, I believe we must meet the challenge to put our state on a better path... a sustainable path, as we seek a better quality of life for North Carolina’s citizens.

This is the challenge of our generation.  The answers were not to be found in bigger, costlier government. Years of liberal policies and runaway spending left our state with the highest taxes and unemployment in the South, a broken economy, and education rankings among
the nation's lowest.  Our citizens demanded a change.

Many believe that the efforts of the 2011-12 legislature under new, more conservative leadership were a beginning toward a better path for our state.We have begun to reverse the longstanding overregulation, forced annexation, and a host of anti-citizen, anti-business, anti-jobs laws.  The voice of the people has been heard loud and clear!

There is much still to do in the aftermath of many years of a government that has been literally spending our children’s future.  The 'borrow, tax and spend' mentality must be a thing of the past.  It is time to adopt a system of priority spending within our means.

We must not leave our children a huge debt they can never repay. With your active involvement and support, we can and must make a difference.  I hope I can count on your support in 2012.  May God bless us all as we work together toward something better.
